Jerry Lorenzo founded Fear of God in 2013, motivated by a desire to create clothing that expressed his faith, identity, and lifestyle. The mainline Fear of God collection quickly became synonymous with luxury streetwear, worn by celebrities like Kanye West and Justin Bieber. However, Lorenzo recognized a gap between high-end fashion and everyday wearability. To address this, he launched Fear of God Essentials in 2018 as a more affordable, accessible extension of his primary label.
